Chia Seed Pizza Dough
2/3 cup warm water
1 tsp dry yeast
¼ tsp sugar
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cups plain flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp Chia seeds
Flour for dusting bench
Mix the warm water, yeast and sugar in a bowl and set aside for a few minutes until froth appears on the surface.
Place the flour, salt and chia seeds into a large bowl.
Once the yeast mixture is ready, whisk in the olive oil and then add to the flour.
Mix ingredients to form a dough and turn out on to a floured surface. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until soft and pliable. Place your dough into a large oiled bowl and cover with a cloth and leave in a warm place to rise and double its size.
Pre heat your oven to 210 degrees Celsius and have your pizza trays ready.
Once doubled in size, turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll out to make your pizza base. I make two medium pizzas with this amount of dough.
Pre-bake the pizza dough with the tomato topping for up to 8 minutes or until it starts to brown slightly this will ensure the pizza is cooked all the way through without burning the topping. Take out the base after pre baking, and apply the rest of the toppings and cheese and return to the oven and cook until the pizza is ready.
