Crunchy onion rings – perfect with drinks, as a side order, as a starter – to be honest I am not such a fan, but they were great on my burger and I also had confirmation from an onion ring lover, that they were really good. 1 cup of SP Beer – feel free to use any beer, but our wonderful SP Beer supports the local industry and is also award winning, so why not? 2 cups of plain flour, 1 beaten egg and a tiny of bit of cayenne pepper… add cold water to thin the batter out if needed. The batter needs to be very thick to give bulk to the delicate onion rings. I enjoyed making them, but next time we have to a bigger crowd to share them with, it will surprise you how much just one onion can make.
